"I think it went beyond what was appropriate. Why didn't they ask for my papers, simply communicating? I ended up with the gun a meter away from me, on the window on the passenger side. They clearly put our lives in danger
(LaPresse) – AC Milan soccer star Tiemoué Bakayoko said police could have killed him at a traffic stop.
“To err is human, this is not a problem. The issue is the ways and methods used, I think it went beyond what was due. Why didn’t they ask for my papers, simply communicating? I ended up with the gun a meter away from me, on the window on the passenger side. They clearly put our lives in danger.”
In a series of stories on Instagram, AC Milan player Tiemoué Bakayoko returned to talk about the search he underwent in Milan by police, providing new details about the affair that emerged in a video that went viral on the web.
“In the video posted on social media you can’t see everything, that’s the quiet part of everything that could have happened,” the French midfielder explained.
“Whatever the reason that prompted them to do it, it’s a mistake to know that you don’t have certainties for the arrested suspects. The consequences could have been much more serious if I had not kept calm, if I had not had the chance to do the job I do and be recognized in time. What would have been the consequences?,” he asked. “Would they have taken me to the station? This leads to a lot of questions. It is not acceptable to put people’s lives in so much danger.”
