New multimedia offer from LaPresse will cover the global ecological transition. 'A natural and necessary choice for news of global relevance,' says chief executive Marco Durante
LaPresse, the Italian news and photo agency, announced today that it is launching a new news offering dedicated to the circular economy, energy, climate change, the challenge of the cities of the future, renewables, efficiency, mobility and infrastructure.
There will be in-depth studies on the objectives of the United Nations 2030 Agenda , from the fight against hunger to the reduction of territorial and social inequalities.
Roberto Cingolani: “There is no ‘Plan B'”
“There is no Plan B,” said Italian Minister of Ecological Transition Roberto Cingolani. “To save the Planet and its people… we have to do this in the next 10 years.”
To forestall the worst effects of global warming, by 2030 the world must reduce its carbon output to 55% of what it was in 1990, and by 2050 the world needs to be carbon neutral. That effort will be “the greatest effort that humanity has made since it realized that we were changing the ecosystem,” Cingolani said in a statement on the launch of LaPresse Green. “I believe we have all the weapons to do a good job. I congratulate LaPresse for starting this new project, and I am sure that LaPresse Green will contribute at this juncture to [provide] accurate and transparent information,” he added.
LaPresse’s president Marco Durante promised to provide news of “global relevance.” He added: “In this historical moment it is evident how important it is to deliver news that is accurate and complete. This is the goal of LaPresse Green, a section in which news of national and global relevance related to the environment and sustainability will be delivered. This is a natural and necessary choice.”
