On Sunday, August 28, a man was trapped on a rock in a flooded river in the Lower Kohistan region in the northeastern part of the country. He was rescued by an army helicopter, which threw him a rope and carried him to safety. Since mid-June, more than 1,000 people have died in Pakistan due to flooding.
