Rome, 10 June (LaPresse) – “Today, we are inaugurating a lasting symbol of our work as a government, the G20 Green Garden”, a project that bears “concrete testimony to what Italy’s approach to sustainability issues wants to be”. This was stated by Italy’s Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Manlio Di Stefano at the inauguration of the G20 Green Garden, the first garden in Rome dedicated to the concept of sustainable development. “The pandemic has probably definitively opened our eyes to the fact that today it is fundamental to take care of the biosphere, which is our only sustenance”, Di Stefano explained, “which is why we wanted the Italian Presidency to be under the banner of the three Ps: ‘People, Planet, Prosperity’. We believe that these three components are inseparable, and only when people are in harmony with the planet they inhabit can there be prosperity for all”. “We also need to raise awareness of these issues, and projects like this one go precisely in this direction, as they will also involve the younger generations with specific activities in schools”, Di Stefano concluded.
