A boy in the north-eastern Italian city of Trieste tested positive to tubercolosis, after he came in contact with an infected pediatrician, authorities said on Monday night. The boy tested positive as a result of a series of health checks performed on around 3,500 children between 0 and 6 years old who had contacts with the infected doctor. According to the website of the 'Il Piccolo' local newspaper, "the boy's condition is not life threatening, despite being infected with TBC". "The boy has underwent medical tests and the necessary treatment. He is not in the infectious phase of the disease, so there is no potential for a contagion on a broader level in the community", the newspaper also said.
